Bob worked in KPMG's audit practice for over 10 years and moved to KPMG's consulting practice after completing his accounting training.
At KPMG, Bob is responsible for financial management in the (semi) public sector. In addition to his financial expertise, Bob is an expert in cost and performance management and has been active in our international CoEs for many years.
Bob has extensive experience in the above mentioned financial areas in the context of ministries and (executive) organizations, both individually in control (P&C) and financial management and in mutual cooperation. His cost and performance management expertise includes performance, financing, cost-price models, etc. in the (regulated or unregulated) agreements between the ministry, the implementing organization and the citizen/business community. Bob has carried out many assignments in the energy (including ACM), transport (including ACM), security and justice, health and education sectors.
In addition to his project work, Bob's activities include:
- Various articles on performance management and cost management
- Lectures and presentations on management, performance management and cost management (e.g. Elsevier conference for independent public bodies and agencies on horizontal and vertical accountability, for the Government-wide Benchmark Group on integrating cost price systems into management (about 20 independent public bodies/agencies) and for hospitals on beyond DBCs and market forces)
- Chairman of the day at conferences such as the Business Performance Management conference
- Developed and facilitated multiple training courses
