Eric Ong Beng Seng

Eric Ong is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Head of People at KPMG in Malaysia. With over 26 years of audit experience, he has coordinated and managed a diverse range of engagements, including complex audits, initial public offering, backdoor listings, due diligence and corporate exercise assignment. His industry exposure covers industrial and consumer products, food and beverage, retails, oil and gas (downstream), and media.

He was the Partner in charge of audit methodology for KPMG’s audit practice in Malaysia from 2011 to 2021. In this role, he led the roll-out of audit methodology and deployment of audit tools firmwide as part of the firm’s relentless commitment to audit quality. In 2016, he oversaw the inception of KPMG’s Data & Analytics practice in Malaysia and took charge of the deployment of data analytics in audit for Malaysia.

He was also the Asia Pacific Head of Audit Learning & Development from Oct 2017 to Sept 2019.
