Stephen has 15 years post qualification experience providing audit and non-audit services to clients in the Consumer and Industrial Markets, Financial Services and the Public Sector and has audited companies in these sectors in East Africa and the United States of America.

Stephen joined KPMG in 2005 and until his admission into the Partnership, was serving as an Associate Director in our Audit Business Unit. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Option) degree from the University of Nairobi, and a Master of Theology from St. Paul’s University. He is also a qualified accountant and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).

In his current role, Stephen heads the Department of Professional Practice and serves as the Audit Quality Leader for East Africa. He is a member of ICPAK’s IFRS Panel and ICPAK’s Professional Standards sub-committee. He has conducted several IFRSs, Auditing and IPSAS trainings organized by KPMG and ICPAK and he is also involved in IFRSs and IPSAS implementation projects in East Africa.
