Alex is a Country Managing Partner of KPMG in Tanzania and sits in the Executive Committee (Exco) of KPMG East Africa. He is the Head of energy and natural resources sector for KPMG East Africa and has gathered practical experience for over 21 years in the public sector (including central government and agencies), financial services, consumer and industrial markets, within East Africa, Africa and the United Kingdom.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting and Management from Bradford University, United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Accounting and Finance from Mzumbe University, Tanzania. He is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a certified public accountant registered by the National Board of Accountants and Auditors in Tanzania (CPA). He is certified in sustainability transformation, oil and gas accounting, reporting and assurance standards (including International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSASs) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs)) among others.
His areas of interest include IPSASs and IFRSs implementation, consolidation, governance advisory, human capital consulting, culture transformation, due diligence reviews, strategy formulation and implementation, sustainable and ethical practices, capacity building, mergers and acquisitions, exploration and production reporting, transaction advisory, organisational reviews, business process reengineering, strategic communication, tax advisory and business consulting.
