Roles
Provide bookkeeping and accounting support to organizations that need to supplement their in-house experience or address resource constraints, providing the organization with greater latitude in addressing more pressing or non-routine issues. This includes the provision of payroll administration and accounting services.
Responsibilities
Accountancy (55%) Provide bookkeeping support and prepare financial statements for clients
- Prepare supplier payment schedules
- Prepare clients’ books of accounts
- Carry out monthly bank and supplier reconciliations
- Prepare monthly management accounts
- Prepare annual Financial Statements according to IFRS
- Provide audit support assistance
- File monthly VAT and withholding tax returns
Payroll Administration (30%). Processing client salaries and remitting the required statutory and payroll-related deductions
- Process new payroll data and carry out necessary computations.
- Verify accuracy of payroll reports
- Make required statutory i.e. PAYE, NSSF, NHIF, HELB, WCF and other payroll related remittances.
- Assist clients in NHIF / NSSF company registration.
- File monthly NSSF, WCF, PAYE and SDL returns.
- Timely updating the Fund tracker as and when cash is received to the bank and payments been made.
Risk Management (5%) Ensure adherence to KPMG risk management processes
- Ensure adherence to KPMG risk management processes.
- Carry out risk procedures for clients at the start of each engagement.
- Ensure every client file complies with KPMG’s global standards.
- Confirm deliverables are as per engagement letter.
- Document all correspondences, accounting and payroll related documentation and all necessary information relating to the assignment.
Other (10%)
- Carry out regular filing of working papers.
- Assist in proposal writing for potential clients.
- Participate in client reporting and presentations.
- Develop new connections with other BUs and use these relationships to cross-sell to while considering independence and risk management requirements.
- Timely Clients bank accounts reconciliations (fund tracker) for the assigned clients. Update fund tracker upon receipt of funds and payment promptly.
- Perform any other related work as directed by the Manager.

Education and Work Experience Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or other related Studies.
- Professional qualifications e.g. CPA.
- International Financial Reporting Standards: Excellent knowledge of IFRS’s and their practical application.
- Income Tax Legislation: Knowledge of Tax laws applicable in Tanzania.
- Technology Skills: Proficiency in MS office applications and knowledge of accounting packages.
