      Position Summary

      We are looking for an experienced Project Manager, based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Project Manager will be responsiblefor managing and coordinating the delivery of international assistance programs in Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan and widerAfrica. The role will involve overseeing project planning, task coordination, technical specialist mobilisation, quality assurance,reporting, risk management, stakeholder engagement and overall delivery of project deliverables. The Project Manager shallwork closely with Project Coordinators, Technical Specialists, subcontractors and other relevant stakeholders to ensure thatactivities are delivered in a timely, compliant and effective manner​

       

      Key roles and responsibilities

      The Project Manager shall undertake the following:​

      • Formulate and manage project plans, including defining deliverables, identifying key milestones, reviewing projectprogress and managing project risks and issues.​

      • Receive and coordinate requests for technical expertise, short-term technical assistance, research and analysis to supportthe planning and implementation of international assistance programmes and projects.​

      • Identify and source Technical Specialists required to respond to technical assistance needs and requests.​

      • Ensure overall quality of task requests, deliverables and outputs prepared by Project Coordinators and TechnicalSpecialists.​

      • Coordinate and prepare documentation in response to scheduled and unscheduled reporting requirements, feedback andobservations.​

      • Prepare reports, work plans and other deliverables, ensuring they meet established accountability, quality and auditrequirements.​

      • Provide regular verbal and/or written updates to relevant stakeholders on progress, concerns and key developments.​

      • Support knowledge transfer, documentation and continuity to ensure sustainability of project outcomes.​

      • Undertake any other related project management tasks assigned under the engagement.​

       

      Academic/ Professional qualifications and Experience:

      • Masters or Bachelor’s degree political science, law, international development, economics, finance, businessadministration, public administration, project management, social sciences or a related fields.​

      • A minimum of eight years of experience as a Project Manager on donor funded projects (funded by USAID, GIZ, FCDO,Global Affairs Canada, amongst others). Experience in projects implemented in Africa, and specifically in Ethiopia, Sudan,and South Sudan is an added advantage.​

      • Experience managing at least 2 development projects with a minimum value of US$ 2,000,000 and a minimum duration of12 months. ​

      • Demonstrated experience in identifying and sourcing technical experts working In a range of key development sectors.​

      • Demonstrated experience working with international development stakeholders such civil society organizations, on-governmental organizations multilateral organizations, local or national governments, private sector, donors, andacademia.​

      • Experience assessing stakeholders’ needs, priorities, and expectations and aligning them with the project objectives.​

      • In-country experience in a developing country is required; experience in Africa is an added advantage​
