      Position Summary

      We are looking for a Project Coordinator, based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Project Coordinator will support in planning,coordinating and tracking project deliverables; maintaining project documentation; coordinating technical specialists and otherresources; supporting stakeholder engagement; and coordinating logistics for project activities.​

      The Project Coordinator shall be responsible for supporting effective project implementation, timely reporting, coordination ofactivities, research and analysis, and follow-up on issues and concerns. The Coordinator will work closely with the ProjectManager, Technical Specialists, stakeholders and client representatives to ensure that project activities are delivered in a timely,organized and effective manner.
       

      Key roles and responsibilities

      The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the following:​

      • Assisting the Project Manager in developing, planning and prioritizing project deliverables. ​

      • Coordinating and track task requests, ensuring quality implementation and reporting from Technical Specialists, identifyingissues and recommending timely adjustments.​

      • Maintaining and updating relevant project information in manual and electronic files, including project activity schedules,status reports, correspondence and related documentation.​

      • Contributing to the preparation of quality reports, summaries and project deliverables.​

      • Assisting in identifying Technical Specialists to provide technical expertise and technical assistance, as required.​

      • Researching and providing background information, analysis and relevant information..​

      • Engaging with stakeholders, monitoring concerns and issues, and supporting timely and effective resolution of problems.​

      • Coordinating logistical services, including mission planning, local transportation, travel arrangements, accommodation,vehicle rentals and contracting arrangements, as required.​

      • Coordinate project reviews, lessons learned and sharing of relevant information with the project team.​

      • Undertake any other related project coordination tasks assigned under the engagement.

       

      Academic/ Professional qualifications and Experience:

      • Masters or Bachelor’s degree political science, law, international development, economics, finance, businessadministration, public administration, project management, social sciences or a related fields.​

      • A minimum of six years of experience as a Project Coordinator on donor funded projects (funded by USAID, GIZ, FCDO,Global Affairs Canada, amongst others). Experience in projects implemented in Africa, and specifically in Ethiopia, Sudan,and South Sudan is an added advantage.​

      • Experience coordinating at least 2 development projects with a minimum value of US$ 2,000,000 and a minimum durationof 12 months. ​

      • Demonstrated experience working with international development stakeholders such civil society organizations, on-governmental organizations multilateral organizations, local or national governments, private sector, donors, andacademia.​

      • Demonstrated experience in identifying and sourcing technical experts working In a range of key development sectors.​

      • Experience liaising and coordinating with multiple stakeholders at country or regional levels. ​

      • Experience in coordinating program logistics such as mission planning, local transportation, travel arrangements andrelated services such as flights and accommodation.​

      • In-country experience in a developing country is required; experience in Africa is an added advantage.
