      Position Summary

      We are currently looking for a Senior Associate in our Business Consulting Services Unit to assist in analyzing client needs, developing strategies, delivering HR solutions, ensuring compliance to KPMG policies and professional standards.

       

      Key roles and responsibilities

      Engagements management and delivery:

      • Participate in the development of a work plan, budget and quality plan to ensure efficiency, client satisfaction and high-quality work on engagements.
      • Maintain a progress tracker of engagement milestones, tasks and deliverables.
      • Schedule and conduct engagement internal and client kick-off, progress and close out meetings.
      • Keep all engagement stakeholders, internal and external, updated of progress.
      • Ensure financial closure of all engagements.
      • Ensure engagement files are QRM compliant.
      • Undertake tasks as directed by Engagement Manager, Associate Director and/or Partner.

      Business Development and revenue growth:

      • Lead and participate in the preparation of proposals, bids, quotations, etc. and including pitching for jobs.
      • Build an understanding of client business and markets to assist in the development of client relationships and a commercial mindset on how work performed impacts profitability at the engagement and practice levels.
      • Identify, escalate and pursue opportunities for further work while on an engagement while demonstrating learning from previous engagements.
      • Manage revenue, maintain a cross-selling value, meet individual revenue targets and ensure proper billing.
      • Manage billing sequence and ensure collection is done within 30 days of billing.
      • Contribute to thought leadership, articles, client insights, webinars, and market-facing initiatives.

      Team Development:

      • Supervise staff on engagements including leading, coaching, training, directing and reviewing work products of team members who may include Seniors, Associates, etc. and as necessary.
      • Give timely and constructive feedback to team members through the performance management system.
      • Conduct training and capacity development for junior team members.
      • Ensure prudent individual leave management in line with firm policies and targets.

      Personal development

      • Build industry knowledge through involvement in events, articles and thought leadership.
      • Actively identify training needs and plan around KPMG trainings.
      • Active goal setting and review.
      • Ensure proper utilization and productivity while observing CPD requirements.

      Risk Management

      • Ensure risk management documents are signed off and a task code obtained before starting any engagement.
      • Ensure all pre-engagement risk activities, including at the proposal stage, are undertaken and signed off by Manager, Associate Director or Partner.
      • Complete all files as allocated and ensure that they are reviewed by the Partner/Director/Manager for risk management compliance prior to sending out any draft or final reports while observing 100% compliance with Quality and Risk Management Policies, Standards and Procedures.
      • Coordinate and consult with the firm quality risk management team on appropriate guidance and controls that ensure quality of the engagement at all stages (planning, execution, reporting and closure).

      Academic/ Professional qualifications and Experience:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or any other relevant field.
      • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in human resource consulting.
      • Membership of a relevant professional bodies such as CIPD, IHRM.
      • Professional certification in HR will be an added advantage such as CHRP(K), PHRi, SPHRi.etc
      • Experience across the breadth of the People and Change service offering areas.

      • Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to perform effectively under pressure and manage competing stakeholder expectations.
      • Pragmatic problem-solving skills: ability to handle and resolve unstructured problems and provide effective solutions or avenues for the solutions to come from other team members
      • Results-oriented with a strong commitment to quality, attention to detail, and continuous improvement.
      • Capable of coaching and developing junior team members through constructive feedback, knowledge sharing, and on-the-job support.
      • Confident, proactive, and self-motivated, with a positive attitude and a willingness to go above and beyond to achieve team and client objectives.
