KPMGコンサルティング株式会社（本社：東京都千代田区、代表取締役社長：宮原 正弘、以下、KPMGコンサルティング）は、日本プロサッカーリーグに加盟するJ1プロサッカークラブ「湘南ベルマーレ」（神奈川県平塚市、代表取締役会長：眞壁 潔、代表取締役社長：水谷 尚人）とオフィシャルクラブパートナー契約を締結し、「デジタルイノベーションパートナー」に就任しました。

東京で開催される世界最大スポーツイベントを経て、日本国内におけるスポーツビジネスを中心とした市場はますます活況を呈していくものと考えられます。KPMGは欧米を中心に、デジタルテクノロジーを用いたスポーツビジネスのイノベーションにおいて多くの支援実績を有しており、デジタルトランスフォーメーション戦略の策定や最先端テクノロジーを活用した業務改革、さらにeSportsに参入する企業や大会を運営する団体に向けた「eSportsアドバイザリーサービス」の提供なども行っています。

With some of the world’s largest sporting events being held in Tokyo, we believe that the Japanese sports business market will continue to grow and flourish. KPMG Consulting has seen great success in supporting sports business innovations in both the United States and Europe through the latest digital technologies. Our service also includes digital transformation strategy formation, operations reform using cutting-edge technologies, and Esports Advisory Service, a consulting service for companies that are considering entering the esports industry and organizations looking to host competitions.

The enjoyment of sports is Shonan Bellmare’s top priority and the club aims to link people of all generations and regions in Shonan. The club’s mission is to support growth of people who challenge through soccer and provide a space for hopes, dreams, and courage. Through its efforts, Shonan Bellmare hopes to create a world where sports culture enriches people’s lives and contribute to community development. Pursuant to its mission, Shonan Bellmare has taken KPMG Consulting as a Digital Innovation Partner to support its 20th anniversary project for making the next leap. From February 2020 to January 2021, we will be helping the club formulate digital reform strategies and assist with their implementation. KPMG Consulting will also be facilitating the creation of an open innovation initiative involving various companies, universities, and other entities; ultimately forming an innovation ecosystem with the club team, the operating company and their stakeholders that will further support these new strategies (see the diagram below). 

KPMG Consulting will be drawing upon its deep digital reform expertise and experience in implementing similar digital efforts both in Japan and abroad, in addition to referencing the latest case studies to help Shonan Bellmare navigate and overcome upcoming challenges. Together, we shall come up with new ways to enjoy sports and the overall stadium experience as well as forge new connections between fans, the team, local communities and businesses through the effective use of digital technologies. Furthermore, we also plan to offer our support to improve Shonan Bellmare’s compliance and governance policies.
