Whats new ?
Climate change is an accepted reality now; its effects accentuated by frequent climate incidences, changing weather patterns, loss of livelihood. The planet is already 1.1 – 1.30 warmer as compared to pre-industrial age, with 2020 being one of the hottest years of the 20th century.[1]
Climate change is also defining the business strategies and operating models of corporates. CEOs and board members are not only aware of the climate risks, but these risks are equated with financial risks, and companies are developing strategies and targets to decarbonise their businesses. Noticeably, as countries develop their ‘net zero targets’, these will also devolve to corporates to deliver, as they will be primary delivery agents for decarbonisation.
