At the 2025 KPMG Women’s Irish Open, KPMG was proud to once again support Children’s Books Ireland in delivering this meaningful initiative. For every birdie made during the tournament and each one scored by Leona Maguire and other Irish professional golfers a children’s book was donated by KPMG to schools across the country.

We’re delighted to announce that this year, €20,000 worth of books will be delivered to 19 schools across 14 counties, reaching over 3,600 children and helping to spark a lifelong love of reading.

The donated books, thoughtfully curated by the team at Children’s Books Ireland, celebrate diversity, inclusion, and the empowering stories of women in sport. This initiative builds on our longstanding partnership with Children’s Books Ireland, which includes support for the KPMG Children’s Books Ireland Awards and transformative programs like BOLD GIRLS and Free To Be Me; all championing the power of stories to inspire and empower young minds.

Growing up with two teachers as parents, the importance of books and reading were instilled in me from a very young age. I’m thrilled that my performance at the KPMG Women’s Open, and that of my co-competitors, will make such a lasting impact for the young readers I’ve met today in Clonmoney school, and in all of the schools that will benefit from this initiative.

We were delighted to continue the Books for Birdies initiative for its third year at this year’s KPMG Women’s Irish Open, building on the success of the past two years. At KPMG, supporting literacy is a cause close to our hearts and we are excited to bring the joy of reading to even more children across Ireland. This year, we’re proud to deliver books to your school that celebrate themes of sport and empowerment, helping to inspire the next generation
