From 12 August 2026:
- food contact packaging may not contain PFAS (“forever chemicals”) in concentrations exceeding those prescribed by the PPWR
- the presence and concentration of any substances of concern (SoC) in packaging must be kept to a minimum, in accordance with the threshold values established by the PPWR
From 12 August 2026, technical documentation relating to packaging and prepared as part of the conformity assessment procedure must substantiate compliance with the above conditions as a prerequisite for placing packaging on the EU market.
