Manthos started his career in UK as an auditor and thanks to his passion for audit and technology, he joined the digital audit team at KPMG UK and relocated back to Greece after twelve years, in 2025. Since he moved back to Greece, he holds a dual role in KPMG Greece's Audit department and KPMG EMA innovation team; a hybrid team focusing on delivering technology solutions in audits to enhance quality and efficiency. He has worked with several member firms in the network developing the KPMG technology proposition in the market and ensuring that we are delivering our audits with the highest quality standards. His team-first mindset, along with his passion for nurturing high-performing teams to support our people in excelling has made him a point of reference in department, always willing to help with a smile.
“Having spent 12 years - essentially my entire professional life - in the United Kingdom, I made the decision to return to Greece, something that wasn’t easy for me. Beyond the personal reasons that led to this decision, conversations with colleagues in the Greek audit sector made me realize that the field is undergoing a major transformation, and I wanted to be part of that evolution in my home country. The transition from KPMG UK to KPMG Greece came with its share of challenges, but also with many opportunities. My international experience helped me see the world of Audit not just as a compliance process, but as a dynamic space for innovation, where technology can truly make a difference.
Today, I’m fortunate to hold a dual role, as on one hand, I’m actively involved in the Audit department, and on the other, I’m part of KPMG's EMA innovation team. What excites me most is the intersection between Audit and technology, where the results can be truly transformative. I vividly remember a project where we used an AI tool to automate a time-consuming process, freeing up valuable time for our teams to focus on more complex aspects of the audits.
But beyond technology, Audit remains a people-centered profession, and that’s why I deeply believe in the power of teamwork. I enjoy encouraging my colleagues to experiment with new approaches, share ideas, and feel that their contributions truly matter. Empowering the team is the key to high performance and meaningful growth.
For those just starting out, or looking to advance in the Audit field, my advice is to embrace technology without fear. Innovation isn’t a threat; it’s an opportunity to make our work more impactful and deliver greater value to our clients. The future of our profession belongs to those who dare to blend tradition with modern thinking.”
