"My career at KPMG began nearly 30 years ago in the Audit department. Back then, at 24, I did not know what an auditor is but everyone told me that being a Certified Auditor was a career in high demand with great prospects. So, I took the leap…

Back in those early days, auditors carried around heavy briefcases full of files, and audit workpapers were long, three or nine-columned sheets of actual paper! So, the first years of my career felt more like a workout than just learning.

Ten years later, I had earned my Certified Auditor qualification, become an Audit Senior Manager, and gained valuable knowledge and experience working with clients from a variety of industries.

I won’t pretend my journey at KPMG was always smooth. There were many times when the pressure and stress made me consider quitting, changing companies, or even switching careers. But I didn’t. And I never regretted it. Over the years, I’ve met amazing people here - many have become friends and some even role models. I’ve grown on many levels. The different internal roles I’ve taken on gave me the chance to do many jobs in one, to travel, and to develop multiple skills. I never stopped learning and never once felt bored. I gained technical expertise, improved my interpersonal skills, and became more resilient and confident.

The auditing profession requires integrity of character, attention to detail and teamwork. The first I strive for every day, the second is me - or so I'm told - and the third I enjoy.

After so many years at KPMG, one thing is for sure: this firm and its people have played a key role in what I am today on a professional and personal level."
