“I started my career at KPMG in early 2022 – a moment I hadn’t planned for nor expected to come. I had already experienced the consulting world before and had decided to take a different path. But, as often happens, life has its own way of challenging you just when you least expect it. A challenge from a former colleague, now our team’s Director, made me reconsider my stance.
The challenge was simple, exciting, and at the same time demanding: to redefine how Finance and Legal departments operate, but this time in our own way, through the formulation of a new KPMG Tax Technology and Transformation department from the ground up.
Despite my initial doubts, the trust and support I received from the firm truly surprised me, and that’s something you should never take for granted. Of course, no idea can flourish without the right people around it. Today, our team is made up of talented individuals with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives , and as cliché as it may sound, they are our greatest source of inspiration.
Personally, together with the team, what drives me every day comes down to one seemingly simple question and that is ‘How does the world work?’. While there’s no single answer, I believe the only way to seek it is through personal effort and constant interaction with people who are better than you. As Charlie Munger wisely said, ‘Go to bed smarter than when you woke up.’ If you keep doing that consistently over time, the positive results are almost inevitable.
