Alexandros has a long history with KPMG, as he first joined as an intern, left briefly for his military service, returned, explored other opportunities for a couple of years, and then rejoined our team. A true cornerstone of his department, he steps up during the most challenging times with reliability, calm and a great sense of humor. Hardworking, outgoing, and a natural mentor, he leads by example and builds strong rapport with clients. Off the clock, he brings the same team spirit and drive to KPMG’s basketball court. Above all, Alexandros is a pure joy to work with, both professionally and personally.
“Looking back on my six-year journey with KPMG, which started as an intern in the Taxation of Individuals Department, I realize that in every role I’ve held, I was never focused on what came before or what might come next. I was rather fully present in the moment. Even though I took two breaks during these years away from KPMG, I kept coming back. Why? Because true collaboration is rare. And collaboration isn’t about company size or brand, it’s about shared values and the people you work with.
What won me over in my department was the continuous human interaction, both with colleagues and with clients. I quickly realized that the word 'tax' often triggers fear or stress, and I found meaning in helping simplify complex legislation and explaining how it actually works in practice. Deep knowledge, clarity, and the trust we inspire in both our clients and our team is what sets us apart and allows us to build long-lasting relationships.
Throughout this journey, I’ve felt fulfilled, not only by the demanding nature of the work, but by the friendships I’ve built through it. I’ve grown, both personally and professionally. I’ve been given space to develop, to speak openly, and to engage with people willing to listen. I’ve felt full, because when I see a colleague under pressure, I know I can ease the moment with a light joke (even if nobody is laughing!). Full, because despite the daily pressures, when I wanted to pursue my hobby, I had the chance to talk to the right people and ended up joining the KPMG Basketball team, doing something I truly love. That’s my kind of relief!
The professional world is intense and demanding, but it also nurtures, develops, and gives back. As long as you plan, push yourself, decompress, and enjoy it. And when the time comes, don’t hesitate to speak up. Talk about what you want, about your own priorities, knowing that the person across from you is ready to listen. Because in the end, we are all on the same side!”
