Plesner and KPMG invite you to a two-day course on the AI Act and Data Protection on 3 and 4 June 2024.

The balance between business value and legislation

The use of AI raises a wide range of questions in relation to potential and business value, and questions in relation to law, information security, data protection, risk management, governance, ethics, contracts and intellectual property rights.

The latest news in GDPR and AI is the AI Act, which was authoried on 13 March 2024. The regulation brings additional regulation to the area - also for the users of AI.

Although AI and the AI Act have only recently entered the agenda of companies and authorities, there is already basic regulation in the form of GDPR and requirements for good practice, objectivity, privacy by design, security of processing and impact assessments, among other things. In addition to this comes the challenges of contracts and intellectual property rights and the need for governance and risk management.

The seminar purpose and content

Plesner and KPMG highlight the technical fundamentals and delve into the legal framework for the use of AI, and teach you how to utilise AI's potential both safely and legally.

As the development and operation of an AI solution is an iterative process consisting of several phases, we will start with governance and then take a phased approach to the relevant legal requirements and risks for each phase. To give the participants the best conditions for using AI, everything will take place in a practical context, and we will naturally start with an introduction to AI and how it can be used.

After the course you will

  • Have a basic understanding of AI and what it can do for your business
  • Recognise the specific phases of AI procurement, development and operation, and
  • Be able to identify, understand and manage the risks and legal requirements in each phase.

Target audience

The seminar is aimed at IT employees, project managers and lawyers etc. with an interest in AI and information security.
