Developing a proactive approach to data management, actively transforming workflows using AI, and the new requirements for assessment skills in the event of a settlement – these are the key themes of the third issue of “New Ways”, our magazine for the banking sector.
Our experts examine three key areas of focus:
Three-quarters of the banks surveyed by KPMG expect significant pressure on data quality, validation and their existing resources: in line with the Expectations on Valuation Capabilities (EoVC), banks must be able to provide robust, consistent and transparent valuations quickly in the event of resolution. To achieve this, data, models, processes and governance must work together in such a way that relevant information is available at short notice – even under stress conditions. The first steps must be taken as early as 2027.
Rapid, centralised availability and flexible use across multiple business departments: these are the objectives of a proactive data management approach that actively supports the business. After all, data management is no longer merely about meeting regulatory obligations. Proactive data management enables banks to use data as a strategic resource to manage processes more efficiently, facilitate innovation and develop new data-driven use cases for the business.
- Eight out of ten banking decision-makers say: The use of AI requires staff retraining and redeployment. The success of AI in banking is not determined by technology alone – it is about rethinking entire workflows and adapting roles and responsibilities so that humans and AI work together effectively throughout the end-to-end process.
The latest issue of *New Ways* shows how banks are moving away from a reactive approach to data and tools towards the active use of AI – with practical guidance on implementation, management and organisation.
