New technologies, changing customer needs and a cultural shift in society pose major challenges for the automotive industry. But how do German decision-makers assess the future of the automotive industry?
In the 24th Global Automotive Executive Survey, we asked more than 1,000 managers from the automotive industry in 28 countries, including 80 decision-makers from Germany.
The results paint an impressive picture:
- Only 16 per cent of German respondents expect profitable growth in the coming years.
- For 34 per cent of respondents, expertise in the field of artificial intelligence is the most important capability for their company in the future.
- As many as 70 per cent of survey participants are considering investments, acquisitions or partnerships with technology companies.
- The top priority for future supply chain strategies is financial hedging and internalisation of production.
- More than half of those surveyed also expect new purchases to be processed via digital distribution channels.
