KPMG is named by research and consulting firm Verdantix as a global leader in the benchmark reportt Green Quadrant: Climate Change Consulting 2023.
The report states that "KPMG stands out for its climate risk strategy and emissions data assurance capabilities".
We are delighted to receive this award and are proud of our commitment to building a leading climate change and decarbonisation practice. This focuses on understanding climate and natural risks and the opportunities to accelerate organisational change.
The Verdantix report goes on to say, "KPMG offers a strategy-driven approach to managing climate risk and has the expertise to assess corporate readiness for climate action and engage the board in that action. The proprietary, cross-sector risk management tool ClimateIQ enables companies to assess both physical and transient climate risks. In this way, KPMG helps companies understand and forecast the impact of climate change on their business."
The teams in our network of firms working on decarbonisation, climate and biodiversity issues form a comprehensive global organisation that helps clients navigate this increasingly important environment. To this end, we offer a wide range of climate advisory services on decarbonisation strategies, energy transition, climate change and biodiversity.
According to the Green Quadrant report, "KPMG is a leader in climate risk disclosure, opportunities and adjustments. KPMG's advisors have strong regulatory expertise at the company, portfolio and product levels and experience with voluntary and mandatory frameworks. This is also demonstrated by the firm's leading role in the Initiative Climat International (iCI) working group on the implementation of the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) under the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI)."
Our experts take advantage of a multi-disciplinary approach, leveraging industry-leading experience, data-driven technology and global alliances to help clients develop robust sustainability plans. These take into account both the risk and opportunity aspects of climate.
Verdantix highlights in the Green Quadrant report that "KPMG emerged as the best provider of assurance services for emissions data with a score of 2.7 (out of a possible 3.0)".
Verdantix's conclusion: "With the advent of global climate change disclosure regulations - notably the EU's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the anticipated but delayed climate change disclosure rule by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) - companies are under increased pressure to ensure that emissions disclosures are both accurate and reliable. KPMG's capabilities in disclosure and assurance-related services make it a strong potential partner for companies in the compliance preparation phase. In addition, KPMG's global presence is an advantage for companies that operate across countries and have complex disclosure requirements."
The „Green Quadrant: Climate Change Consulting 2023” by research and consulting firm Verdantix is a benchmark report for climate change consulting providers that has now been published for the first time. It provides a detailed analysis of the performance of 15 leading providers in this field. It is based on a two-hour interview with each participant, a 94-item questionnaire and interviews with more than 30 people who buy climate change services for companies.
