Michael Pritzer has been COO Audit at KPMG Germany since 2021. In this role, he works with the leadership team to oversee the quality and further development of services in the areas of statutory audit, sustainability reporting & governance, and digital process compliance.
As a chartered accountant, he brings over 20 years’ experience in audit and regulatory advisory. As Global Lead Partner for financial statement audits, he advises large and capital-market-oriented companies. Various roles in Germany and the US have shaped his perspective on markets, regulation and the challenges facing global organisations, and have enabled him to build an international network.
His aim is to continuously enhance audit quality and support the teams in their day-to-day work. He views new technologies and AI as tools that further these goals, but believes their true value is realised only through the people who use them effectively.
For him, sustainable success is only possible with strong teams, personal responsibility and a culture that promotes both performance and collaboration in equal measure. He regards dialogue with colleagues, clients and subject matter experts from a wide range of fields as the foundation for actively shaping the audit services of tomorrow in both the German and international contexts.
