“Quality, a focus on results, and efficiency in regular regulatory stress tests are crucial for banks. This is the only way to ensure successful cooperation with the regulator.”

Andreas Dittmaier is a Senior Manager in the Financial Services practice at KPMG. He specializes in helping financial institutions navigate regulatory challenges, particularly in the context of their supervision by the ECB.

Andreas is an experienced expert in guiding banks through the complex process of transitioning to Significant Institution (SI) status. This includes, among other things, onboarding under ECB supervision, conducting regulatory stress tests, and meeting specific requirements such as those related to interest rate risk in the banking book (Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book, IRRBB), the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), and adequate liquidity provision (Internal Liquidity Adequacy Assessment Process, ILAAP).

During his career at KPMG, Andreas has gained extensive experience in managing the entire transition process to ECB supervision. His areas of expertise include determining the significance of institutions, conducting asset quality reviews and stress tests, and coordinating regulatory data requests.
