The IT landscape of companies is currently facing a number of challenges. There is, for example, the ever-accelerating digitalisation. Global political and economic instability also plays a major role. Flexible and state-of-the-art software solutions are key in overcoming all these challenges and establishing future-proof corporate IT that can respond agilely and flexibly to criminal attacks as well as to changing regulations or processes.
Low-code platforms help: Companies share their experiences
Our "Shaping the digital transformation with low-code platforms" study highlights the challenges facing modern IT and how low-code key technology can help overcome these. For our study, we spoke to employees in more than 700 companies from various industries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Thus, the study provides an excellent overview of low-code's international significance. Approximately two-thirds of those surveyed state that low-code platforms have considerably improved process and development speed in their companies.
Platforms can be customised
Low-code platforms offer applications elements that can be put together on a modular basis and that can also be individually modified. This makes it possible to develop applications efficiently and to continuously refine them. The platforms enable not only professional developers but also users without any specific programming skills to create and modify programs of various complexity.
Many companies consider the topic too complex
Many of the companies surveyed are still very sceptical about the use of low-code platforms. The challenges, however, are assessed differently. Those not working in IT consider the topic as being too complex. By contrast, IT employees say the main obstacle for rolling out low-code platforms is senior management's low level of acceptance.
Users of low-code platforms report major cost reductions
A look at the users of low-code platforms is helpful here, as the survey shows that those who use low-code realise added value. For instance, 53% state that low-code has helped the company cut total and operating costs. And 55% confirm that low-code platforms have helped reduce backlogs in corporate IT or handle these better.
Our study shows you where companies around the world are in their development of low-code platforms and what their plans are for the future. Furthermore, we show you the key success factors for integrating low-code platforms.
