Steve Carlozzi
Tax Managing Director
As a U.S. Indirect Tax Managing Director at KPMG LLP, Stephen’s main duties encompass managing reverse sales/use tax audits, handling controversy engagements, and providing general tax compliance services to his client base. His expertise extends to sales and use tax compliance, outsourcing projects, diagnostic/nexus reviews, and technical research/writing. He also has extensive knowledge of and experience in assisting clients with voluntary disclosure/closing agreements and public letter rulings.
Stephen acts as the firm's primary state tax resource for New Jersey-based sales/use tax matters and is a trusted advisory on inbound related tax matters. His client base is diverse and includes those in financial markets, manufacturing, technology, telecommunications, retail, etc.
David Haas
Senior Manager
David is a Senior Manager in KPMG’s New York state and local tax practice with 13 years of experience in multi-state tax matters, with a focus on US sales and use taxation. As part of the SALT group, he works primarily with the Indirect Tax practice to assist a variety of clients with resolving complicated sales and use tax matters.
Types of consulting services provided include state tax audit representation, state tax consulting, refund analysis, nexus diagnostics, facilitation of Voluntary Disclosure Agreements, and sales and use tax compliance policy and procedure reviews. Industries that David has worked in include retail, media, financial services, and technology.
