This is an entry-level opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional who wants to build practical experience in corporate finance, valuation, transactions, infrastructure and development-finance advisory.
As part of our multidisciplinary Advisory team, you will work on assignments involving Mongolian companies, financial institutions, investors, government organizations and international development institutions. You may also collaborate with KPMG specialists from other countries on cross-border and technically complex engagements.
What you will have the opportunity to work on
Depending on the engagement, your experience may include:
- Business, equity, asset and financial instrument valuations;
- Support Audit teams as valuation specialists for valuation reviews;
- Financial modelling, forecasting and scenario analysis;
- Financial and commercial due diligence for acquisitions, investments and financing transactions;
- Corporate finance, transaction and capital-raising advisory;
- Financial-sector and capital-markets projects;
- IFRS-related valuation work, including purchase price allocation, impairment testing and fair-value analysis;
- Agreed-upon procedures and other independent financial reviews;
- Market, industry and economic research;
- Projects financed or supported by international development institutions; and
- Preparation of investment teasers, information memoranda, presentations, proposals and other client deliverables.
Your responsibilities
As an Associate, you will work under the guidance of experienced team members and take on increasing responsibility as your skills develop. You will:
Collect, review and analyze financial, operational and market information;
- Analyze financial statements, business plans, transaction data and key business drivers;
- Build and update financial models, forecasts, valuations and sensitivity analyses;
- Conduct company, industry, economic and comparable-market research;
- Support valuation, due diligence, corporate finance, project-finance, financial forensics and agreed-upon procedures engagements;
- Identify key findings, risks and matters requiring further client clarification;
- Prepare clear reports, presentations, analytical schedules and other client deliverables;
- Participate in client meetings and coordinate information requests with clients and KPMG specialists;
- Help manage assigned tasks and project timelines while maintaining KPMG’s quality and professional standards; and
- Support proposals, pitch materials and other business-development activities.

What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field;
- Strong academic foundation and genuine interest in finance, investment, valuation and business analysis;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;
- Ability to understand financial statements and fundamental accounting and corporate-finance concepts;
- Good Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, with a willingness to develop advanced financial-modelling capabilities;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Mongolian and English;
- Careful attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work;
- Highly motivated, proactive and dependable, with the ability to prioritize work effectively and adapt to changing demands;
- Intellectual curiosity, professional integrity and willingness to learn;
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team; and
- Confidence communicating with colleagues and clients in a professional manner.
Advantageous but not required
- Internship or initial work experience in advisory, banking, investment, accounting, audit, research or a related field;
- Progress toward CFA, ACCA, CPA or another relevant professional qualification;
- Experience in financial modelling, data analysis or company and industry research;
- Some knowledge of valuation methods, capital markets, IFRS, PPPs or project finance; or
- Familiarity with data-visualization or analytics tools.
Professional qualifications and prior advisory experience are not required. We are looking for candidates with strong potential, sound fundamentals and a willingness to learn.
