KPMG Canada will host a webinar on March 4 to share practical strategies for Indigenous communities and financial stakeholders in major infrastructure projects.
With nearly 85 per cent of business leaders in a recent KPMG survey expressing concern that insufficient consultation with Indigenous Nations will lead to project delays and setbacks, this session will delve into best practices and real-world case studies on successful Indigenous participation and equity partnerships.
“If we don’t engage Indigenous communities as true partners in development, projects will stall, end up in potential litigation, or collapse altogether,” says Catherine Pennington, National Indigenous Advisory Services Leader, at KPMG Canada.
“Success depends on our ability to bridge the gap between federal policy and shovel-ready reality. By prioritizing partnerships, early meaningful engagement and the mandate for Indigenous participation, we aren’t just building infrastructure, we are building the durable partnerships and long-term stability needed to secure our economic sovereignty.”
