Understanding the class action
In June 2020, a Quebec consumer filed a class action against a ski resort over unused portions of 2019–2020 ski passes and related add-ons due to COVID-19 closures. The Court of Appeal of Quebec authorized the class action in March 2022, defining the class as:
“All consumers who purchased a 2019-2020 ski pass, including persons who also purchased the add-on.”
KPMG was appointed claims administrator in 2023. The administration concluded in summer 2024.
