With over 12 years of experience, Jacob is a Partner at KPMG in Canada’s Greater Toronto Area (GTA) Tax practice. He specializes in finding creative tax solutions to enhance value for stakeholders, by designing and implementing intricate corporate reorganization transactions. Jacob utilizes complex tax planning strategies to achieve significant tax savings while maximizing tax deferral benefit for businesses and their shareholders.
Jacob has advised on a number of public and private company transactions and regularly provides tax advisory services to entrepreneurs, business owners, and multi-national corporations on proposed mergers, strategic acquisitions, divestitures, and initial public offering (IPO) transactions. Jacob’s key practice areas include tax-deferred butterfly reorganizations and tax-efficient business sale transactions.
Having worked in Toronto and New York City, Jacob has developed a deep understanding in Canadian and US tax rules, as well as international tax treaties, which he uses to manage and resolve tax issues.
He is a frequent speaker at tax conferences, a published author, and a facilitator for CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Course.
