With 30 years of experience of advising companies on cross-border U.S. tax matters, Joseph is a key member of the U.S. Corporate Tax practice at KPMG in Canada. He focuses on private enterprise businesses investing in or carrying on a business in the United States. Joseph advises Canadian-based companies on U.S. tax compliance and filing issues and supervises successful execution of tax reporting and compliance processes. He leads teams to complete tax accounting engagements involving financial reporting of U.S. taxes for Canadian multi-national companies. Joseph also advises Canadian-based companies on U.S. tax issues associated with investments and expansions into the U.S., including formulation, evaluation, and customization of alternatives for cross-border acquisitions, financing, operations, and repatriation. In previous roles, Joseph led the compliance function of a U.S. Tax practice and implemented various transformation initiatives.

Joseph is a CPA with Ontario and Illinois. He obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree, and a Master’s degree in U.S. Taxation. Joseph has also spoken at events such as the Tax-to-Order session organized by the Canadian Tax Foundation and at the Canada-U.S. Cross Border Tax Strategies conducted by Council for International Tax Education.
