Elio Luongo is a Senior Partner at KPMG in Canada. He previously served in several senior positions at the firm, most recently acting as KPMG in Canada’s Chief Executive Officer and Senior Partner for two consecutive terms from October 2016 to September 2024 until mandatory retirement. He was also a member of KPMG’s Global Board and the Global Council of KPMG International.
Elio has a proven track record of driving sustainable growth and has an innate ability to recognize trends and guide clients on adapting to changing landscapes. Under his leadership, KPMG in Canada has thrived, earning the trust of clients in communities across the country and expanding its team to over 10,000 employees and 1,000 partners. The firm invested heavily in technology, including building a proprietary generative AI platform for KPMG professionals and upskilling its entire workforce on emerging technologies to help its clients.
Elio is also a champion of inclusion and diversity, making ID&E a core tenet of his leadership legacy. During his tenure, the firm announced its inaugural Truth and Reconciliation (in 2022) and Disability Inclusion (in 2024) action plans. He also introduced KPMG’s first Chief Mental Officer, a groundbreaking move in corporate Canada.
