Manpreet practices in ESG law, helping client mitigate their legal risk associated with the reporting and disclosure of ESG information. Prior to joining KPMG, she practiced law as a corporate commercial litigator and disputes lawyer with a national law firm, primarily focusing on major construction project disputes and energy and environmental regulatory matters. She has worked with clients across a wide range of industries and subject matters. Manpreet regularly advises clients across numerous industries on ESG legal disclosure risks (e.g. greenwashing), ESG strategy and program development, supply chain due diligence (e.g. modern slavery), and ESG policy development and training.
Prior to law, Manpreet spent eight years as a supply chain leader supporting capital programs in the hydroelectric, LNG, and liquids industries. As a trusted advisor on supply chain matters, Manpreet provided advice on supply chain governance, strategies, and risk management.

- Conducts assessments and provides guidance to clients relating to ESG legal risk and disclosure
- Advices on reporting obligations and conducts risk assessments with respect to forced labour and child labour
- Authors articles and facilitates training on regulatory requirements, industry trends, shareholder activism, and litigation related to ESG strategy, performance and disclosure
Environmental Law and Regulatory
- Assisted clients in responding to regulatory and environmental inspections, investigations, enforcement actions, and defending prosecutions where charges are laid
- Assisted clients on matters concerning federal and provincial environmental compliance issues and prosecutions (including appeals and ADR) across Canada concerning matters such as oil releases and spills, contaminated sites, breaches of operating permits and licenses, and environmental and regulatory prosecution.

- Conducted regulatory and environmental due diligence for large scale energy and natural resource projects
