Rebecca Burrows is the General Counsel of KPMG in Canada. She is also on the Global General Counsel Steering Group of KPMG International, and a member of the Management Committee of KPMG Law LLP. As General Counsel, Rebecca leads the Office of General Counsel, and has overall responsibility for all legal matters affecting the firm. Prior to joining KPMG in Canada, Rebecca was a litigation partner at a major Canadian law firm practicing corporate and commercial litigation. She has been recognized as one of Lexpert’s Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers Under 40, and a “Litigation Lawyer to Watch” in Lexpert’s 2013 Guide to the Leading US/Canada Cross-Border Litigation Lawyers in Canada. Since joining KPMG, Rebecca was named as a finalist in the litigation management category of the Canadian General Counsel Awards.
Rebecca is a life-long volunteer, having served as a director on a number of non-profit boards, most recently with Youth and Philanthropy Initiative and The Elizabeth Fry Society (Toronto). She has served as Chair of the In-House Practice Group of The Advocates Society, and is a frequent speaker at legal symposiums.
