Kara Brennan has been with KPMG for over 25 years, becoming an audit partner in 2024.
She spent six years in the Department of Professional Practice where she focused on the transition to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and developed her skillset to become a subject matter expert pertaining to the standards of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB).
Kara has worked with a diverse range of clients, from pipeline and power to oil & gas, mining, cannabis, and agriculture/chemical sectors. In addition, she is especially experienced in understanding and catering to the unique needs of multinational clients.
In addition to her client work, Kara serves as an Engagement Quality Control Reviewer-assist on several large SEC-registrants. Supporting audit quality, the cornerstone of KPMG’s professional reputation, Kara develops and delivers training, leads audit quality initiatives, and supports the group’s Professional Practice Partners in risk management and regulatory matters.
