Before joining KPMG Law LLP, Allison worked for more than a decade with the British Columbia Ministry of Finance in various audit and policy roles in the Income Taxation and Consumer Taxation Branches, clerked with the Tax Court of Canada in Ottawa and practiced law at other national law firms in Vancouver.
Allison provides dispute resolution services at the audit, appeals and litigation stages in disputes with the Canada Revenue Agency, the Canada Border Services agency, the British Columbia Ministry of Finance and before the courts, including representing clients before the Tax Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal, and the British Columbia Supreme Court.
Allison also provides corporate and international tax planning advice, including advising Canadian and international clients on mergers, acquisitions, and corporate reorganizations.
