Shawn has over 25 years of public accounting experience with more than 21 years devoted to tax. Shawn's clients include public and private real estate landlords, developers, construction and engineering companies, hotel managers and owners, electricity and gas distributors and retailers and high net worth individuals and family offices.
Shawn's real estate experience includes cross border (both inbound and outbound) acquisitions and dispositions, REIT mergers, private and widely held real estate funds and general tax planning in all aspects of the real estate industry.
Shawn electricity and gas distribution and retailing experience arises from being involved in many transactions in that space, including mergers, dispositions and acquisitions. Shawn is also an expert in the taxes payable under the Electricity Act, Ontario and has worked through corporate reorganizations and other transactions in that regime.
Shawn also has significant experience with high net worth individuals and family offices offering a fully integrated tax experience for private companies.
