      Ali is a seasoned economist with over 15 years in macroeconomic analysis, forecasting, financial markets and global economic research, shaped by deep expertise across the U.S., Canada, and major emerging market economies. As KPMG Canada’s Chief Economist, he leads KPMG Canada’s economic thought leadership and integrates macroeconomic and sectoral analysis into the firm’s strategic and operational planning.

      Prior to joining KPMG, Ali held senior leadership roles focusing on the macroeconomic analysis of the U.S. and Canadian economies, regularly engaging with global clients and media. Drawing on experience across capital markets, central banking and government, Ali is recognized for translating complex economic dynamics into clear and actionable insights that support informed decision‑making and drive positive business outcomes.
