Andrew Gibson is an Executive Director in KPMG Canada's MC Public Sector Solutions practice in Ottawa, advising major federal regulators, large federal IT departments, and Crown corporations on how they plan, procure, and run their technology. His work spans IT strategy and operating model design, technology procurement, regulatory and supervisory technology, and the data infrastructure behind federal reporting and oversight.
He has led engagements with major federal regulators on supervision modernization and the selection of supervisory technology platforms, and with large federal IT departments on application sustainability, evergreening, and independent assessment of IT methodology. He currently leads a workstream standing up the information systems function for a newly created federal Crown corporation, from executive capability interviews through to a target-state IT plan and the transition off inherited systems.
Before joining KPMG, Andrew spent two decades inside the Government of Canada's central agencies, where he designed GC InfoBase, the government's public financial and results reporting platform. That experience continues to shape his work at the intersection of federal data standards, transparency, and analytics. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in engineering from Queen's University.
