Cory Dawson is a Senior Associate in KPMG Law LLP's Private Client Services group. His practice focuses on estate litigation, estate administration, estate planning, and trust and fiduciary matters. He advises individuals, families, executors, trustees, and beneficiaries on a broad range of estate and succession issues, helping clients navigate complex legal, financial, and family dynamics.
Cory is committed to providing clear, accessible guidance and working closely with clients to help them navigate challenging circumstances with confidence. He acts for his clients with respect to contested estate matters, trust disputes, adult guardianship and trusteeship issues, probate and administration applications, and the administration of estates. He has experience advising on disputes involving executors, trustees, beneficiaries, capacity concerns, and family conflict, helping clients identify practical solutions while protecting their legal interests.
Estate and succession matters often arise during significant personal and financial transitions. Whether helping clients avoid unnecessary litigation or advocating through contested matters, Cory provides practical, strategic advice tailored to each client's circumstances and objectives.
Prior to entering the legal profession, Cory earned a Master of Education from the University of Alberta before completing his Juris Doctor. His background in education continues to inform his approach to client service, helping individuals and families understand complex legal and practical considerations so they can make informed decisions.
Outside of his practice, Cory enjoys spending time with his family, walking his dog, and cheering on his children from the sidelines of their various sporting activities.
