Thank you for joining our webinar on Wednesday 15 May 2024 with the topic NIS2 in Belgium: Opportunities and Challenges.
NIS2, the revised directive on cybersecurity, is a crucial piece of legislation aimed at enhancing the resilience of critical infrastructure and digital services across the European Union. Building upon the foundation laid by the original NIS Directive, NIS2 introduces updated requirements and obligations to address emerging cyber threats and technological advancements.
For Belgium, transposing NIS2 into national law is a significant undertaking that involves aligning domestic cybersecurity regulations with the standards set forth by the European Union. This process requires close collaboration between government entities, regulatory bodies, industry stakeholders, and cybersecurity experts to ensure a smooth and effective transition. The deadline to close this is 18 October 2024 for all EU member states including Belgium.
Throughout today's webinar, we delved into the key aspects of NIS2, explored its implications for organizations operating in Belgium, and discussed the practical steps needed to achieve compliance. From understanding the directive's requirements to navigating the transposition process, our goal was to provide you with valuable insights and actionable compliance strategies to enhance cybersecurity resilience in Belgium and manage the key challenges that arise from it turning them into opportunities.
Thank you for joining us as we embark on this journey to strengthen cybersecurity across the European Union and safeguard our digital future.
