At KPMG, giving back is an essential aspect of life and an integral part of our values, culture, and Impact Plan. Through the KPMG Foundation, we want to give our people the opportunity and time to make a real difference in the community and for charities they care about. By giving every person the opportunity to submit a volunteer project, we aim to motivate everyone to become actively involved and make an impact.
KPMG Foundation Project
Natuurpunt is a Belgian non-profit organization dedicated to protecting vulnerable natural areas and preserving biodiversity. The organization manages thousands of hectares of nature reserves across Flanders and relies on volunteers to maintain and restore these precious ecosystems. From wetlands and forests to meadows and dunes, Natuurpunt’s efforts focus on safeguarding native species and ensuring that nature can thrive for generations to come.
Their work not only helps restore ecological balance but also raises awareness about the importance of sustainability and biodiversity. By involving communities and companies in hands-on conservation efforts, Natuurpunt fosters a shared responsibility for protecting the environment.
Making an impact
On Tuesday 21 October, a group of enthusiastic KPMG volunteers rolled up their sleeves for a day of action in collaboration with Natuurpunt.
Under the guidance of a specialist nature guide, the volunteers spent the day uprooting trees that were preventing the proper development of nature around them. With tools in hand, the volunteers learned how to identify and remove these obstructive species in a way that supports long-term ecological health.
We are incredibly grateful to our volunteers who continue to seize opportunities to make a real difference. By working #Together, we achieve so much more, building stronger connections and supporting our planet in meaningful ways.
