KPMG Foundation & Accueil Botanique

At KPMG, giving back is an essential aspect of life and an integral part of our values, culture, and Impact Plan. Through the KPMG Foundation, we want to give our people the opportunity and time to make a real difference in the community and for charities they care about. By giving every person the opportunity to submit a volunteer project, we aim to motivate everyone to get actively involved and make an impact.

Accueil Botanique, located in the center of Liège, plays a crucial role in supporting individuals facing homelessness, poverty, or social exclusion. As a day center, it offers a warm, safe, and respectful environment where people in vulnerable situations can access essential services and find respite from life on the streets.

The organization provides a range of support, including hot drinks, showers, laundry facilities, social counselling, and meal distribution. Its core mission is to preserve the dignity of each individual, offering them both immediate relief and longer-term guidance. Accueil Botanique is also a vital point of contact for people who are often disconnected from traditional support systems, helping to rebuild trust and community through everyday human interactions.

Just as importantly, the center fosters inclusion, welcoming volunteers and service users alike into a space built on mutual respect and solidarity. Whether it's through sharing a meal or simply offering a listening ear, Accueil Botanique creates opportunities for connection and care.

On Monday, 10 June 2025, KPMG volunteers stepped in to support the team at Accueil Botanique and contribute to their morning services.

Their contributions included:

• Preparing and assembling fresh sandwiches
• Distributing breakfasts to guests
• Cleaning and tidying the food preparation and dining areas

The volunteers brought empathy, teamwork, and dedication—helping to create a welcoming environment for people facing difficult life situations. For many guests, it was not just about receiving a meal, but also experiencing kindness and human connection in a safe space.
