At KPMG, giving back is an essential aspect of life and an integral part of our values, culture, and Impact Plan. Through the KPMG Foundation, we want to give our people the opportunity and time to make a real difference in the community and for charities they care about. By giving every person the opportunity to submit a volunteer project, we aim to motivate everyone to get actively involved and make an impact.
KPMG Foundation Project
Founded in 2003 by former triathlete Marc Herremans following his life-changing spinal cord injury, To Walk Again is a Belgian non-profit organisation dedicated to improving the quality of life of people with physical disabilities through sport, exercise, and inclusive experiences. Together with CEO Toon Claes and Managing Director Thomas Caers, Marc continues to drive the organisation's mission of empowering people to challenge their limits, build self-confidence, and strengthen their social connections.
Beyond rehabilitation, To Walk Again believes in the power of inclusion. Through a wide range of initiatives, events, and holiday camps, the organisation enables children, young people, and adults with physical disabilities to enjoy meaningful experiences that might otherwise be difficult to access. Together with an extensive network of volunteers, To Walk Again helps create moments of joy, independence, and belonging for every participant.
Making an impact
On Tuesday, 7 July 2026, a team of KPMG volunteers joined To Walk Again during its summer camp at Plopsaland De Panne, helping to create an unforgettable day for the participants.
Throughout the day, our volunteers provided hands-on support by:
- Pushing participants in their wheelchairs throughout the amusement park;
- Assisting during lunchtime;
- Helping participants safely access and enjoy the different attractions; and
- Creating a fun atmosphere so every participant could fully enjoy the day.
By lending a helping hand, our volunteers allowed participants to focus on what truly mattered: enjoying a memorable day filled with laughter, excitement, and shared experiences. Together, they helped create an inclusive environment where everyone could make lasting memories.
We are incredibly grateful to our volunteers who continue to seize opportunities to make a real difference. By working #Together, we achieve so much more, building stronger connections and supporting our community in meaningful ways.
