      At KPMG, giving back is an essential aspect of life and an integral part of our values, culture, and Impact Plan. Through the KPMG Foundation, we want to give our people the opportunity and time to make a real difference in the community and for charities they care about. By giving every person the opportunity to submit a volunteer project, we aim to motivate everyone to get actively involved and make an impact.

      KPMG Foundation Project

      Located in Hasselt, KIDS is a Belgian non-profit organization founded with the mission to provide specialized educational and therapeutic support to children with special needs. The school works with children who face a range of challenges, including physical disabilities, developmental delays, and intellectual disabilities. KIDS is dedicated to offering personalized care to each child, ensuring that everybody meets their individual needs.

      Through a variety of programs, including specialized education, therapy, and recreational activities, KIDS focuses on helping children reach their full potential. The organization also places a strong emphasis on creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where children can develop socially, emotionally, and cognitively.

      KIDS collaborates closely with families, teachers, and therapists to create tailored programs that focus on the strengths and challenges of each child. In addition to its educational services, KIDS offers support to parents, helping them navigate the challenges of raising a child with special needs.

      Making an impact

      On Tuesday, 19 November 2024, KPMG volunteers gathered at KIDS for a dedicated day of service, rolling up their sleeves to help maintain and enhance the organization’s facilities. The volunteering team contributed in various ways, completing hands-on tasks to ensure that the children and staff at KIDS could continue to benefit from a welcoming, safe, and well-maintained environment.

      Tasks accomplished by the KPMG volunteer team included:

      • Garden work to maintain a safe and enjoyable outdoor space for the children
      • Cleaning part of the building to prepare it for new classrooms
      • Emptying archives and storage rooms to create a more organized environment

      We are incredibly grateful to our volunteers who continue to seize opportunities to make a real difference. By working #Together, we achieve so much more, building stronger connections and supporting our community in meaningful ways.
