At KPMG, giving back is an essential aspect of life and an integral part of our values, culture, and Impact Plan. Through the KPMG Foundation, we want to give our people the opportunity and time to make a real difference in the community and for charities they care about. By giving every person the opportunity to submit a volunteer project, we aim to motivate everyone to get actively involved and make an impact.

KPMG Foundation Project

Feestvarken vzw is one of the volunteering projects selected by our people under the KPMG Foundation. It is a non-profit organization founded in 2013 by Koen Hendrickx and his wife. The organization focuses on tackling poverty in Belgium, by, amongst other things, bringing joy and celebration to children who face challenging circumstances.

Their primary mission is to ensure that every child, regardless of their background or situation, experiences the magic and happiness of celebrating their birthday. A birthday package consists of a birthday present, party items (flags, balloons, cups), treats (cake or pancake mix, candy bag) and fun extras (candles, wrapping paper).

In addition to birthday packages, Feestvarken vzw is also committed to raising awareness about child poverty in an approachable and positive way. They make (young) people think about poverty by highlighting poverty through workshops in schools and companies.

Making an impact

Volunteering project Spring 2025

Building on the energy and success of our past initiatives, our KPMG volunteers once again joined forces to support Feestvarken vzw in their ongoing mission. On 16 May 2025, a passionate group of colleagues came together to lend a helping hand and contribute to the joy of underprivileged children. During this inspiring day, our volunteers were involved in:

Making decorations with Clic toys
Washing the food truck
Counting the stock
Preparing present packages
Vacuuming the premises

Volunteering day Autumn 2024

With great enthusiasm, volunteers returned to Feestvarken on Thursday, 21 November, to support the creation of festive decorations ahead of the holiday season. The day was spent:

Preparing birthday packages;
Wrapping birthday packages; and
Building Christmas decorations using Clics toys.

Volunteering project Spring 2024

After the wonderful experience of our previous volunteering efforts in Autumn 2023, our KPMG volunteers once again dedicated their time to support Feestvarken vzw in their mission to alleviate poverty in Belgium. On 30 May and 6 June 2024, our enthusiastic team took on new challenges to bring joy and assistance to those in need. During these recent sessions, our volunteers contributed to:

Making birthday packages
Refilling the gift stock
Wrapping gifts
Creating 'Clics' toys

Volunteering project Autumn 2023

On 19 October and 16 November 2023, our KPMG volunteers dedicated an entire day to helping Feestvarken vzw to tackle poverty in Belgium. Under the guidance of Koen and Tineke, our volunteers helped with:

Making birthday packages
Painting walls in the new section of the building
Filling candy boxes
Making Christmas decorations with Clics
Folding wrapping paper

We are incredibly grateful for our volunteers who continue to seize opportunities to make a real difference. Working #Together, we achieve so much more, building stronger connections and supporting our community in meaningful ways.
