At KPMG, giving back is an essential aspect of life and an integral part of our values, culture, and Impact Plan. Through the KPMG Foundation, we want to give our people the opportunity and time to make a real difference in the community and for charities they care about. By giving every person the opportunity to submit a volunteer project, we aim to motivate everyone to get actively involved and make an impact.

KPMG Foundation Project

Dores vzw is one of the volunteering projects selected by our people under the KPMG Foundation.

Founded in 2018 by Elke Nagels and Inge Ceulemans, Dores vzw is a compassionate care farm nestled in the serene countryside, which offers a sanctuary and meaningful day activities for individuals with disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and psychological challenges.

Dores is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for its guests through a diverse range of therapeutic activities, such as animal care, gardening, arts and crafts, and therapeutic workshops, all aimed at fostering personal growth, social inclusion, and a strong sense of community.

Through their holistic approach, Dores not only supports the well-being and personal growth of their visitors, but also promotes their integration into society by highlighting their abilities and contributions. The farm's mission is to demonstrate that with the right support and opportunities, people with disabilities can feel empowered and lead fulfilling lives.

Making an impact

Volunteering day Autumn 2024

On Monday 22 October 2024, our committed KPMG volunteers returned to Dores for another fulfilling day of teamwork and community support.

Throughout the day, our enthusiastic team tackled a range of impactful projects, including:

Demolishing container units to prepare for new indoor spaces;
Sanding and painting a sanitary container down to its iron frame;
Starting work to transform the garden into a community space;
Clearing pathways; and
Preparing for the installation of a gate, which will require further welding work.

Volunteering day Summer 2024

On Wednesday, 26 June 2024, our dedicated KPMG volunteers embarked on a mission to support Dores’ inspiring work.

During this day, our enthusiastic team engaged in a variety of activities, including:

Clearing weeds from the greenhouse;
Building a house for the rabbits;
Raking hay in a field;
Filling the hole of the pool with sand; and
Cleaning the food trays of the horses.

We are incredibly grateful for our volunteers who continue to seize opportunities to make a real difference. By working #Together, we achieve so much more, building stronger connections and supporting our community in meaningful ways.
