What was needed
What we did
KPMG managed the migration of data from 11 hospitals, consolidating millions of data elements and over 20,000 unique patient records into a single system.
Data quality, accuracy, and completeness were prioritised throughout the migration process, with a collaborative approach, involving clinical staff and frontline workers to correct and validate the data at source.
Data quality dashboards were implemented to identify issues, monitor improvements, and provide transparency for staff. The project was treated as a business-led initiative rather than purely a technology exercise.
What we delivered
- Successful go-live with frontline staff having immediate access to unified patient records
- A reconciliation rate of 99.998%
- Improved data quality and consistency, leaving data in a better state post-migration
- Enhanced continuity of care for patients travelling within the Torres Strait and Cape catchment
- Strong collaboration between TCHHS and KPMG teams ensured stability and confidence in the new system.
