The Accelerated Business Growth (ABG) team is dedicated to developing integrated solutions aimed at supporting the growth ambitions of our clients. We work with our clients to understand their business needs, and assist in delivering holistic solutions that enable them to reach their growth potential. Within this team are the Research & Development (R&D) Advisory, High Growth Ventures (HGV) and University engagement practices.

Our R&D team assist some of Australia’s most innovative companies gain access to government grants and incentives for research and development activities undertaken in Australia. We also assist companies in developing governance frameworks, policies and procedures to streamline their R&D processes and substantiate their R&D activities, and look to provide opportunities for further government support through our local and global network and our connections within the federal and state government agencies and industry bodies. Through these initiatives, we work with our clients create long term value, and assist in providing a competitive advantage for Australian companies.

Our HGV is a dedicated start up team within KPMG. Our team has broad experience operating, in and working alongside key members of the industry and active members in the start-up space. Our unique placement allows us to unite founders with KPMG's global connections and capabilities, guiding clients to the right resources within KPMG to provide advice and support to help their business achieve rapid and sustained high performance.

Our University engagement team works across the higher education sector to provide solutions and strategies to maximise results in relation to research performance, research systems transformation and industry engagement/collaboration and commercialisation. This includes understanding the impact of internal and external performance metrics and benchmarks to guide institutional strategy and investment, setting up the structures, systems and technology to support delivery of world-class research and to helping institutions build strong, sustainable, integrated and mutually-beneficial partnerships with industry.

Every day is unique, depending on the client engagements that we are running at any given time. We have a broad range of clients, across a wide range of industries including agribusiness, biomedical & health, engineering, finance & insurance services, manufacturing, mining & energy and IT/telecommunications, in a broad range of sizes from start-ups to ASX listed clients.

We work in teams collaboratively with the aim of getting to know our clients business, understand their needs and how we can support them in their research and development and growth journey, with a particular focus on incentives and grants and collaboration opportunities. As an example, a typical day in the R&D advisory team is usually a mixture of meeting with our clients, and working as part of a team to support applications for Incentives and grants programs, as well as advising on the governance frameworks.

As part of team, you will have an opportunity to work with and learn about some of the most innovative technologies. As part of the R&D advisory and University engagement teams, you will work alongside experienced industry specialists, to gain new knowledge and client service experience. As part of the HGV team, you will support the start-up sector by identify and driving opportunities with new and existing clients in this emerging market.
