Shalini De Silva is a Partner in KPMG Law's Tax Dispute Resolution & Controversy practice.

She advises clients on complex and high-stakes tax disputes, helping them navigate regulatory scrutiny, manage tax risk and achieve commercially effective outcomes.

Shalini acts for corporate groups, multinational organisations, high-net-worth individuals and privately owned businesses across all stages of the dispute lifecycle, including voluntary disclosures, reviews, audits, objections, alternative dispute resolution and litigation.  She has extensive experience developing dispute strategies and managing engagements with revenue authorities in both domestic and cross-border matters.

Before joining KPMG Law, Shalini worked with another Big Four professional services firm and held roles with HM Revenue & Customs and the Treasury Solicitor's Department in the United Kingdom.  Her experience on both sides of the dispute process provides valuable insight into how revenue authorities approach audits, investigations and contentious tax matters.

Shalini's practice focuses on disputes involving cross-border arrangements, corporate restructures, transfer pricing and the application of Australia's general anti-avoidance provisions. Having advised on significant federal and state tax controversies across a range of industries, she brings a strategic, pragmatic approach to resolving complex disputes and helping clients achieve certainty.
