      FAQs

Modern slavery refers to situations where individuals are exploited and cannot refuse or leave their circumstances due to threats, violence, coercion, deception, or abuse of power. It includes forced labour, human trafficking, debt bondage, and other forms of exploitation that violate human rights and dignity.

Under the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth), Australian entities with annual consolidated revenue of at least AU$100 million must submit a Modern Slavery Statement annually. This outlines actions taken to assess and address modern slavery risks in their operations and supply chains.

Entities that meet the requirements must submit an annual statement addressing seven mandatory criteria: structure, operations, supply chains, risk areas, actions taken, effectiveness assessments, and consultation processes. Statements must be board-approved and published on the government register.

KPMG Australia’s FY25 Modern Slavery Statement fulfils the Modern Slavery Statement requirements under the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth), and demonstrates our systematic approach to risk identification, assessment, and mitigation across our operations and supply chain.
