In the last few years, significant progress has been made in Uzbekistan in creating a legal framework for the regulation of corporate relations. In particular, a recent Presidential Decree has abolished a number of rules and mandatory requirements, creating additional barriers for entering into corporate relations. Henceforth, state registration of the founding agreement of a company and the creation of internal audit services in organizations will no longer be mandatory, except in certain cases.

Our recent experience includes:

  • Full legal support on the organization and establishment of a retail business for a large Russian company in Uzbekistan.
  • Full turnkey legal support for the purchase of a winery, including the state registration of a legal entity in Uzbekistan.
  • Full legal support in the re-registration of a major Russian oil-producing company in Uzbekistan.
  • Drafting a set of incorporation documents, including a shareholders' agreement on the management of the company, for a third-ranked metallurgy company in Uzbekistan.
  • Advising a large foreign holding company on the incorporation of 4 subsidiaries in Uzbekistan.
  • Providing advice to a major Russian sea shipping company on registration and the organization of business in Uzbekistan.
